FS2004, Los Angeles International Airport...KLAX By: Bill Melichar ******************************************************************************************** Description: This is my first complete new scenery for FS2004, and it enhances the entry and inside of the default FS LAX. It has all new pylons at the entry to the airport, which now light up in color synchronization with the tower and restaurant structure at the airports center, just like the real light show at this airport. The LAX sign as you enter the airport is also included here. The palm trees throughout the airport are now more politically correct for the Southern California area, and what you would see at the real airport. There are also airport vans in various airline liveries parked near the terminals of their perspective airlines. There is now much greater night traffic flowing through the airport, roadway overlaps have been cleaned up, and the 405 Freeway has been shortened from my previous version to conserve on frame rates, but still provide the visual impact when landing here. This scenery should also be completely compatible with FS2002, but the tarmacs have been removed since they now exist in FS2004. ******************************************************************************************** Installation: 1. Extract the zip into your main FS2004 Addon Scenery folder, or into a temporary folder, and then move it there, which ever method you prefer. 2. Start up FS2004 and when the welcome screen, or initial menu comes on, select settings, then click on Scenery Library, and Add Area. Find the Addon Scenery folder and open it, then find the LAX3 folder and click on it. The name LAX3 should now appear in the title window, then click OK. Then you will see LAX3 at the top of your scenery library list, and click the OK tab at the bottom. 3. That's it! You must first exit FS2004, and when you restart it your scenery will be there. It is not necessary to use the Addon Scenery option to locate this scenery, simply go to the airport in FS. ******************************************************************************************** Notes: I would have liked to add a second tier road going throughout the airport, like the real thing, but due to frame rates, and the desire to keep the airport as flyable as possible, I elected not to. ******************************************************************************************** Credits: The Gerrish tree library for the realistic Mexican fan and Canary Island palms. John de Langristin for his great tree and bush textures used extensively throughout this scenery. Christian Freidrich for his blue bus, which looks great both night and day. Tom Burnett for his airline vans used throughout the airport. Nova program by Rafael Sanchez used to create the complex pylons, and the building near the airport entry. ******************************************************************************************** Legal and Contact: This scenery is freeware, and may not be duplicated in any form for profit. If you wish to upload it to your site, feel free, as long as there is no charge, and your site is flight sim related. Feel free to contact me for whatever reason.
